Congratulations to Taneil Lee who is the recipient of The Thomson Leadership and Innovation Award scholarship for 2021.

Ms. Lee will be pursuing a Master of Science degree in Physician Associate Studies from Newcastle University in the United Kingdom. She is a graduate of John Gray High School and completed an Associate of Science degree in Environmental Science and Biology from the University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI) in 2017 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health from the University of South Florida in 2019.

Ms. Lee will be pursuing a Master of Science degree in Physician Associate Studies from Newcastle University in the United Kingdom. She is a graduate of John Gray High School and completed an Associate of Science degree in Environmental Science and Biology from the University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI) in 2017 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health from the University of South Florida in 2019.

While studying for her Bachelor’s degree, Taneil was honoured to be the first Caymanian to represent her country at the World Youth Forum in Egypt where she engaged in discussions with several world leaders including Nelson Mandela’s grandson Mandla. Ms. Lee currently volunteers at the Jasmine Hospice Facility assisting with the care of terminally ill patients.

The Thomson Leadership and Innovation Award is a scholarship created by The Peter N. Thomson Family Foundation designed to recruit and support Caymanian students who are driven to improve the Cayman Islands in areas including, but not limited to, entrepreneurial studies, emerging technologies, design and creative arts and/or the sciences.
