In Tashell's own words….

“My objective in pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Sociology at the University of Reading is to develop the knowledge, skills, and leadership abilities necessary to contribute meaningfully to youth development and community advancement within the Cayman Islands, particularly in Cayman Brac.

Growing up in Cayman Brac has shaped my understanding of the importance of strong community connections and the role that leadership plays in supporting the wellbeing of young people… Studying Sociology will provide me with the opportunity to better understand social systems, community dynamics, and the challenges that affect young people and families. Through my studies, I hope to gain knowledge in areas such as social development, inequality, and community based solutions… My long term objective is to return to the Cayman Islands, particularly Cayman Brac, and contribute to initiatives that strengthen youth leadership opportunities and community engagement programs. I hope to work alongside community organizations, government departments, and youth focused initiatives to develop programs that encourage leadership, mentorship, and innovation among young people.”
