The Cayman Islands and The Bahamas – The Peter N. Thomson Family Scholarship Fund with Bishops College School

Recognizing the role that education plays in building a community, and appreciating the excellence in education that Bishops College School provides. The Peter N. Thomson Family Foundation through a $2 million donation to the BCS Foundation. The fund will make Bishops College School accessible to exceptional and deserving students from the Cayman Islands and the Bahamas who are citizens or longstanding permanent residents, and demonstrate need and exhibit outstanding academic potential.

Quoting the Spring 2019 The Bishops College School Bulletin. "The Fund, established by Bishops College School alumni Peter A. Thomson and Patricia Thomson-Leonard is named for their father, Peter Nesbitt Thomson, a prominent Canadian businessman who moved to the Bahamas in 1977. The late Mr. Thomson was a staunch advocate for access to education, believing deeply in its worth, and this philanthropic propensity is as evident today as it was during his lifetime."

Bishops College School is an English speaking private boarding school in Lennoxville, Quebec. Students from 40 countries presently attend. "As former students of Bishops College School, we appreciate that Bishops College School gives its students a really well-rounded foundation, giving them the confidence to move forward with the support of an engaged and involved network of alumni. Students leave Bishops College School prepared to meet the challenges the future has in store for them. Our goal is for Bahamian and Caymanian students to share in that experience, while supporting our old school."
