He attended Jack Hayward Public High School and was a graduate of Bethune-Cookman University for his undergraduate studies. During his secondary studies, he was awarded the "Most Outstanding Student in Excellence in Grand Bahama." In addition to this, he was also a prefect, honor roll student with 7 BGCSEs and won the first-place national award for piano in the E. Clement Bethel National Arts Festival. During his undergraduate college career, he maintained his standing on the President’s List with a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher. He was also the historic winner of the James A. In Elijah’s Own Words:

When I return home from my studies, I plan to create my own piano competitions, arts festivals and programs, and scholarship fund to support people like me who have had to struggle to pursue their dream and further their education. Many of my concerts will be to raise funds for these endeavors. I also plan to teach at the University of the Bahamas. – Elijah Stevens
